2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Final: USA vs Mexico - Starting XI, Lineup Notes, TV Channels & Start Time

When it counted most, the Syracuse alum delivered.

On Sunday, the United States Men's National Soccer Team stunned Mexico in the Gold Cup Final, winning 1-0. Miles Robinson, a former Syracuse star, scored the game-winning goal in extra time on a header. The US defeated its southern opponents for the second time in a row in the final. Christian Pulisic scored an extra-time winner in the inaugural CONFACAF Nations League final on June 6th.

This team, on the other hand, was not your typical US Men's National Team lineup. Almost all of the team's regular players were absent. Young up-and-comers, on the other hand, played and took advantage of the occasion.
Robinson, who is only 24, has experienced a once-in-a-lifetime moment that should give him and the squad confidence as they prepare for World Cup qualification, which begins in September.

The US Men's Soccer team has won the Gold Cup for the eighth time. Robinson's goal was his third for the United States in international competition and his second in the Gold Cup.
Robinson spent two seasons at Syracuse before joining the MLS's Generation Adidas program. Atlanta United picked him with the 2nd overall choice in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. He was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team in 2015, the All-ACC Tournament Team in 2015, the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2016, and the All-ACC First Team in 2016. Despite being a defender, Robinson ranked sixth on the squad in points and third in goals in 2016.
