President Trump has conveyed a letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, advising her that she arranged outside movements have been put off.
In a letter tweeted out Thursday evening by White House squeeze secretary Sarah Sanders, President Trump told Pelosi: "I am sorry to learn you that your trek to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been put off."
The president's letter comes only one day after Speaker Pelosi moved to drop the president's up and coming State of the Union location, which is booked for January 29.
Pelosi referred to "security concerns" and low staffing because of the administration shutdown as one reason why the president couldn't convey the location as planned. In any case, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen later rejected Speaker Pelosi's reasons, including that U.S. faculty "are completely arranged to help and anchor the State of the Union on its planned date.
