Should We Remove OBAMA name from Old Dixie Highway?

Often times most of us are quick to disregard the importance of names. With so many new things being created every day, things of the past can be perceived as “less relevant”. But, it’s for this same reason that names also have one valuable role. They allow us to preserve our legacy and heritage.

In the course of the most recent couple of months, we have heard how liberals have endeavored to spoil the historical backdrop of our progenitors by attempting to expel Confederate landmarks from our urban areas. Presently they are going above and beyond and they are endeavoring to expel the name "Dixie" from our history.

Old Dixie Expressway situated in Riviera Shoreline, Florida is formally being renamed as "President Barack Obama Interstate". The change was chosen after city authorities finished up the old name was "bigot and hostile". They trust that by transforming it to "Obama", they will get a fresh start on history.

"(The road is) representative of prejudice, emblematic of the family, emblematic of cross burnings and today we are venturing up to another day, another period," said the chairman of Riviera Shoreline.
While it was in fact evident that in the past there was some KKK movement in the Riviera Shoreline and the major might need to remove themselves from that. To trust that they can hold the name "Dixie "responsible for such history fringes amongst affront and ineptitude.
There is nothing supremacist with either "Dixie" or Confederate landmarks. They are a piece of the American history and are a piece of a rich culture that goes past whatever terrible liberals might need to join to it.

To discretionarily choose that President Obama might be more pertinent to American History than many years of legacy is absurd. Over that, Obama has never done anything for uniformity in America.

For the individuals who trust he is a good example for Afro Americans. He was raised by outside the nation, and his dark legacy originates from his Kenyan father who relinquished him. He was raised by a white couple and never saw any of the racial clashes in this nation.
Obama's self-claim of speaking to "African Americans" while sharing no legacy or culture has presumably been the most bigot decree of present day legislative issues.

It's opportunity that individuals quit endeavoring to utilize open tricks like this to "encourage solidarity". A genuine feeling of solidarity can just originate from sharing shared objectives and enhancing together all through ages. Renaming a legacy road with the name of the most noticeably awful leader of American History isn't evidence of anything.

  1. Bad mistake throwing this countries legacy in the trash is very disheartening. And if the mainstream media will ever start reporting the real news again I believe that Obama will be convicted of crimes against this country and its people. The people are going to wake up someday, bet on that. Keep it THE DIXIE HIGHWAY. Might as well name it the OJ Simpson Highway if you want to name it after a criminal.

  13. He never did anything positive for this country, he does not deserve any monuments to his presidency, and should actually be remembered as the worst president EVER! The fact that he was given the Nobel Peace Prize just because he.....did what? Being half black and a socialist does not make you a great president https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ub1LiRU2tGo
